Ah yes, the inevitable new obsession. This time it's pom poms. I'm sure you've seen sprint thread's amazing etsy shop... and if not, go look. Pom pom headbands! Sweetly sewn cube necklaces! Everything in beautiful color palettes! I'm in love.

I'm also in love with:
+Robert, Jad, and their amazing radio show Radiolab. This American Life Fans take note!
+Watching Law and Order SVU on Netflix instant while eating lunch (today I think it'll be nugs & fries, the class little kid lunch).
+my really stupid looking but OH SO COMFY slipper boots.

airbnb is a nice looking, easy to understand website with tons of reviews of private houses, castles, rooms in apartments, and more that you can stay in and I am IN LOVE with looking through it. Definitely makes me consider a vacation more and more.

snowed in

I've been lucky enough to have some amazing teachers throughout my life. James O'Brien certainly changed the way that I thought about making art digitally when I was in his class, but ever since finding his blog, which is chock full of tips and techniques, he's been influencing me THROUGH THE INTERWEBS!

This new piece I made using a technique James learned from another student of his - draw each individual piece in graphite on some tracing paper, scan them, and piece them together in photoshop! This year I really want to try new styles and new subject matter, so this is part of the "new style" attempt.

Also I do not want it to be snowy anymore. It has gotten slushy and dirty and I'm soooo tired of it. In fact, I find myself dreaming about warm weather that normally makes me sweaty and cranky. What's going on? AM I GETTING OLD?

It was Chance's birthday concert last night, and what song did the birthday band Communist Daughter cover, but the very song that has been stuck in my head for ages! Once I tried to make my own version in Garage Band. It was embarrassing.

My new years resolutions are as follows:
-Make some forreals art and show it somewhere... anywhere.
-Find a new color that I never wear that looks good on me.
-Go to New York.
-Make a lot of fondue.

currently loving the illustrations of You Byun, based out of New York. I love how she focuses on the color of the image outline, with more muted colors for the overall image. So pretty!
