quick fix
what do you call a guilty pleasure that really doesn't need to incur guilt? Non-Guilty Pleasures? Either way, mine is fixing buttons. I'm not the best at sewing, but almost anyone can mend a fallen button with ease. It's simple and you can watch something fab (like right now I've got sex and the city going on) and you feel like you've accomplished something at the end!!
I've never done a full face-lift buttonwise until today! This little sweater from forever 21 has been missing a button for ages and upon going through my little button drawer I found no good lookalikes. This is when I set my eyes upon a small baggy filled with these white vintage buttons. Not being used for anything! I can't believe I didn't do this sooner!
Here, for reference, are the much less attractive original buttons:

cut!

Got my first professional, at a salon and everything, haircut in probably about 3 or 4 years yesterday! Missy from Head to Toe did a bang up job on making my huge lump of hair look healthier n' prettier n' softer, I'd say! All yous guys in the greater Twin Cities area should check this place out, they're offering half off haircuts for new clients. GREAT DEAL.
Also, I was making a weird face in the photo, and then when I decided to photoshop it out I kind of went overboard. OH WELL.
p.s. today I showed up to work 4 hours early, and as a result while waiting to catch the bus home I saw the grossest pigeon I've ever seen in my life.

p.s. right around the corner we got this, this, this and (WARNING: this website has a really cheezy theme song that plays right away, but the food is so good) this. I'm looking forward to the deliciousness.

personal space
Anywho, this has gotten me daydreaming about decorating and other fun things, so it is time for me to pull out the ol' inspiration file. Here are a few of my faves from two of my favorite big interior blogs..

amused
But something REALLY great about this movie was that they filmed it at Kennywood, a magical amusement park that I would go to every summer as a kid when my dear Grammy still lived in Pittsburgh. It holds so many precious childhood memories for me, so it was fantastic to see it on the screen. What is so great about Kennywood is that it still retains a lot of the charm that amusement parks had ages ago. A lot of amusement parks are so focused on updating graphics and colors and rides that they loose what made them so intriguing and strange when they first opened long ago.
So with that, LETS HAVE A PHOTOMONTAGE. There is a plethora of photos (new and old) from Kennywood on flickr, and they are all great.

ah, the search for the perfect perfume. I have never been one to keep up with scenting myself, but recently I've been obsessed with little classy things - perhaps because they achieve some sort of satisfaction without too much $$ (my big classy thing would be a pair of louboutins, but I digress...). A short trip to the Mall of America yielded a singular new obsession: atomizers. Victoria's Secret has the most perfect little guy which I instantly fell in love with.
Unfortunately, due to the accidental purchase of the body powder of the same scent (does anyone even buy scented body powder anymore?) I never got around to buying the perfume itself. On my last visit home I was telling my mother about this terrible plight when she pulled out the answer to all my problems - purchased while on vacation with my dad in St. Barts so many moons ago:
now i must pick a scent to go inside!
