state of affairs

HOW

I am in Michigan, living it up with my darling family. So far I've gone wine shopping, grocery shopping, fallen asleep to project runway, made pizza, made a gift for my brother, and have now finally settled down with the plans of zonking out again - and I only got here around noon!

Expect pictures later - I'm going to be even more exhausted on Saturday after waking up in the wee hours of the morning to hoof it to the stadium to hear President Obama's commencement address! I know, exciting.

thinly veiled

veil

I have been playing around in photoshop & illustrator A LOT recently... and not really saving much. But this one made the cut! I based it on a sweet photograph I saw (can you imagine this for realsies?) but of course can't find the image.

Next week I'm going to Ann Arbor to see my younger (taller) brother graduate from college. This seems like it must be some sort of joke! Are we getting old? One of my friends pointed out that he remembered when my brother graduated from HIGH SCHOOL. IT WASN'T THAT LONG AGO, FOLKS. Crazytown. I've decided to try that thing out where you plan all your outfits in advance... the last few times I've traveled I've managed to pack a bunch of things that don't go well together, so we'll see how this goes.

spring roll

04.15.10lunchtime is funtime

headscarf, cardigan, belt & shoes: vintage
tunic: etoile by isabel marant
shorts: old navy "weekender" jeans, cut off by moi.

Every time the weather perks up like this it gives me a surge of energy! Luckily I had a half day today, so I went home and made a tuna melt and drank iced tea and watched Sex & The City - my idea of a perfect lunch! I decided to take the giant yellow cardigan down from the shop and keep it, it's so cheery and oversized.. it'll be perfect for summer.

Speaking of spring, if you want a beautiful (non-cliche) mother's day card Rifle Paper Co. has an amazing set of cards for you.

listomania

warmweather

Now that the weather is turning (although looking out the window at the grey skies it's kind of hard to tell) I've got my mind set on what I'm going to do with my days off in the summertime. And obviously I've been tucking away various items and ideas, which seem to look quite nice together!

Sophisticated sunglasses (fred flare) for lounging outside & a retro onepiece (jcrew) for lounging beachside. Sandals (jack willis) that are uncomplicated and easy to put my feet in, but still stylish. And finally, a great new rug (urban outfitters) with an adorable bird print (etsy) on the wall and a new cocktail (design*sponge) in my hand.

p.s. the font i used for the image is one of my own. Alistair is available to purchase from youworkforthem.com
