A certain guy was very smart and got me white daisies for Valentines day - I've come to really dislike roses, especially after seeing five bazillion of them at work. Red roses with babies breath are a lovely gesture, but gentlemen listen to me: get your gal something that reflects her personality. If she's like me, she'll be OVERJOYED.

Anywho, the daisies just started wilting, so I pruned out some and filled in the empty spaces with a new favorite flower - the ranunculus! SO PRETTY. A quick google image search turns up pages and pages of beautiful little guys all in so many fab colors! I'm not always so big on flowers, but sometimes they can really brighten your day.

Just so that this post isn't all about flowers, I will now pronounce my love for New York Magazine's website. Plenty of full articles from the magazine (which I am fully considering subscribing to) plus Vulture (culture blog) and The Cut (fashion blog), so I can keep up to date on my various vices.

morning glory

I love mornings off. Even if I have to go into work in the after noon I enjoy the morning leading up to it thoroughly. Bryan and I inevitably make coffee and watch an episode of 30 Rock (we've seen them all at least twice), Bryan plays video games, I read some bloggies and sometimes talk to my buddy Chance.

I'm working on some fun projects right now while enjoying some trashy tv... oh tyra....

p.s. have you heard the new charlotte gainsbourg album? I'm in love. Le Chat du café des Artistes is so AMAZING. Like a French James Bond song.

I don't know when or where, but next time I have some crazy art event to go to that requires dressing crazy and art-like, I'm going to DIY my own pair of chandelier tights ala the Viktor and Rolf Spring 2007 line... SO WEIRD BUT SO COOL.

snowed in

remember way back when, when i announced that it had snowed? well... it kept snowing. Even today, it is still snowing.

I just submitted a piece for the Foot in the Door 4 show at the MIA. Having been going to the MIA on a semi-regular basis ever since entering college, I am pretty excited to see my work hung there amongst (more than) 1,700 of my Minnesota artist peers. HERE IT IS IF YOU WERE CURIOUS:

p.s. just finished rewatching the last few episodes of season 5 of Lost to prepare for tomorrow. Having blubbered my way through that last gut wrenching scene for the SECOND time I'm not sure I'll be able to hold it together for whatever they throw at me next.
